About "Riding Shotgun"

I wrote this for Linda, of course.  She means so much and everything to me so it was difficult trying to corral all of my thoughts and feelings for this wonderful woman into a song.  Marshall Coats helped arrange and reign it in.

Lyrics

I told my Mama when I met you

I found a rare and feisty woman

We could be marooned upon the moon

And we’d get home – together we’d get home

With you riding shotgun

I played the fool and nearly lost us

I let us down a rocky road

We had gone so far beyond the stars

But we got home, together we got home

With you riding shotgun

God only knows what you see in me

A sweet ramblin’ rose with a wild tumbleweed

Two birds of a feather – together forever

We run , with you riding shotgun

If I go first to meet our Maker

I won’t have to fly alone

I believe your love, your energy

Will guide me home – like it’s always done

With you riding shotgun

God only knows what you see in me

A sweet ramblin’ rose with a wild tumbleweed

Two birds of a feather – together forever

We run , with you riding shotgun

Two birds of a feather – together forever in love

With you riding shotgun
